Libraries - the Hub of Learning!

The goal of SAUSD library programs is to provide access to relevant, current, and enticing material, both print and electronic, for free reading, research, and curriculum support at all sites. The role of the district librarian is to provide library technology and information literacy support to district library staff, teachers, administrators, and students.

Based at the Instructional Media Center, the district librarian provides monthly staff development for library staff at each grade level, provides technical support for the Destiny Library and Textbook Management Systems, assists sites with implementing automated textbook checkout, and is in charge of the Professional Library at the IMC. The district librarian also works with site administrators on library facilities planning, library staffing, reading program implementation, library purchasing, and staff development for teachers in research skills.

For assistance with any projects related to library technology or print literacy, please contact Maggie Barnes at x73432 or via email at margaret.barnes@sausd.us.
