· 8/17/2007 - CAHSEE Settlement Agreement A tentative settlement agreement has been reached in Valenzuela v. O’Connell et al., a lawsuit filed in February 2006 challenging the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE). The proposed settlement, which leaves the exit exam in place, was tentatively approved on July 19 by Alameda County Superior Court Judge Robert Freedman. The Notice of Certification of Settlement Class fully informs all interested parties of the terms of the settlement and how it may affect them.

On this day, 63 students will graduate from Middle College High School with their high school diplomas, and 13 of those students will also graduate with their associate's degree and transfer as juniors to universities. · 6/1/2007 - Deloitte and Touche's Impact Day Deloitte and Touche has selected Monroe Elementary School as this year's location for the company's Impact Day community service project in Orange County. Some 400 employees will convene at the school's campus on June 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist with various school beautification projects and lead a Junior Achievement curriculum. The company received the Celebrate Santa Ana 2007 Community Building Award - Art in Business for its work at Wilson Elementary School last year. · 6/1/2007 - Contest for Fireworks Safety As part of a comprehensive educational campaign to combat the use of illegal fireworks, the Santa Ana Police and Fire Departments sponsored a fireworks safety coloring contest for SAUSD second grade students.
