NOTICE INVITING APPLICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FOR THE SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education for the Santa Ana Unified School District seeks applications to fill a total of two seats on the Bond Oversight Committee.

The purpose of the Bond Oversight Committee is to oversee the expenditure of Measure C funds and to communicate its findings to the Board and the public in order to promote the proper expenditure of school bond funds as voters intended and the efficient completion of projects.

One applicant will be chosen from the following representative groups:

1. Person active in a business organization representing the business community located within the district.
2. Person active in a senior citizen's organization.
3. Parent/guardian of a child enrolled in the district.
4. Parent/guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active in a parent-teacher organization
5. Person active in a bona fide taxpayers' organization.

The remaining seat may be filled by any person who is a member of the Santa Ana community.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of California, and reside within the district’s geographic boundaries.  Applicants may not be an employee of the district who is directly related to the construction of school facilities in the district or an official of the district.

The commitment of those interested in serving on the Bond Oversight Committee is for either a two-year term.

The Public Information Office will accept applications until September 30, 2005, at 4:30 p.m.  Applications may be requested from the Public Information Office at 714-558-5555, or be obtained at the Santa Ana School District office located at 1601 East Chestnut Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92701.

The new members will be appointed by the Board of Education on October 11, 2005.  The newly appointed members will begin their respective terms on October 1, 2005 and attend the Bond Oversight Committee meeting on October 20, 2005.
