Welcome to BTSA Induction!
The Participating Teacher Support and Assessment Induction Program is designed to offer support for beginning teachers who have finished their credentialing program and have applied for, or currently hold, a preliminary Multiple Subjects Credential or Preliminary Single Subjects Credential. As outlined is SB2042, BTSA Induction is now the pathway to a Professional Clear Credential.
Created by SB1422 in 1992, the BTSA Program was established based on research gathered from the California New Teacher Project. This research identified the need to provide Participating teachers with focused induction support that would be at a sufficient level of intensity to make a difference in the performance, retention, and satisfaction of Participating Teachers.
The Santa Ana Unified School District BTSA Induction Program supports new teachers through providing a two-year induction program. This program includes a formative assessment process, ongoing professional development classes, training for Support Providers, quarterly newsletters, this website, and resource materials. The California Standards for the Teaching Profession are the foundation for all activity sponsored by the SAUSD BTSA Induction Program.
